25 | On June 21, 2023, at 1:20 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), D. Sanchez, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Araceli Lara. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Ten (10) children, one (1) staff and provider were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a single story, three bedroom, two bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: Living room, dining room, main daycare room, kitchen laundry room and back yard. Off limits areas are: bedroom located across from Master bedroom and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob protection.
Provider told LPA that she wants to open up the Master bathroom for the daycare children as a back up when hallway bathroom is being use. She also stated that she wants to open her son's bedroom (located next to the living room), because that is where her son naps during operating hours. LPA inspected the Master bedroom and bathroom as well as her son's bedroom and authorized all three areas for to be use for daycare purposes.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. There is a separate living space in the backyard that is occupied as a residence by provider's aunt and uncle. Both adults are fingerprint cleared and has all the requirements to assist provider with the children in the daycare. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 8/2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 1/22/2023. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 5/19/2023. |
