25 | On May 16, at 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Edgar Campana conducted an unannounced case management inspection with licensee, Sann Gonzalez. LPA Campana informed licensee that the purpose of the inspection was for the requested change of capacity. Licensee led LPA on a tour of the facility. There were six (6) children present at the facility during the time of the inspection.
On 03/28/2023, a fire clearance was approved for 14 children. The following areas are to be used for child care: living room, bedroom (office), one bathroom, one half bathroom, back patio, and front patio. Off limits areas are: garage, kitchen and entire upstairs (3 bedrooms, 2 bath) and are inaccessible through use of door knob safety latches and a safety gate. There were no bodies of water observed during time of inspection. There are sufficient age appropriate toys, games, and books available. The home was clean and orderly during inspection. The fire extinguisher is rated 2-A;10; BC, smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector are operational. There is a working telephone in the home and all required forms are posted. Licensee stated that there are NO firearms or ammunition on the property. All adults living or working in the home have been fingerprint cleared and associated. LPA reviewed children's files and emergency drill log. Last fire/disaster drill was conducted on 05/2023. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expire 12/27/2023 . LPA discussed with Licensee the importance of maintaining supervision of day children at all times. LPA reviewed the following with licensee: SIDS, car seat law, reporting requirements, shaken baby syndrome, care and supervision, and infectious disease precautions/guidelines. Licensee was also reminded the following items are prohibited during day care operating hours (walkers, exersaucers, jumpers and bouncy seats). Corporal punishment and smoking are not allowed in the day care.
