25 | On October 3rd, 2022 at 9: 55 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Tegest Alemu. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The Licensee and her adult sister, Amina Salad were present during this inspection. Three (3) daycare children were out of the facility at the park with the helper. The landlord has made renovations to the areas not used for childcare. This facility is now a two (2) bedroom, two (2)bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: living room, family room and one (1) bathroom. The off limit areas are the kitchen, bedrooms and remaining bathroom. The bedrooms and remaining bathroom have door locks. Kitchen cabinets were observed not to have any hazardous items accessible to children.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Licensee states children are taken to a nearby park for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expired in December 2021, but Licensee provided LPA with documentation she is scheduled to renew the 1st Aide/CPR later today. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee is currently exempt from Mandated Reporter Training. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 09/29/2022.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or |
