25 | On June 15, 2023, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Sado Deer. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The Licensee, Ibrahim Ahmed (background cleared and associated to the license) and their three (3) children were present in the facility. This facility is a two (2) bedroom, two (2) bathroom single floored house. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: living room, dining room, the bathrooms and one (1) bedroom. The off limit areas are the kitchen and the remaining bedroom. Access into the off limit bedroom is barred by use of a safety doorknob cover. The kitchen is made inaccessible by use of a child safety gate.
The fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide/smoke detector meet requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Licensee states children are taken to a nearby park for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 09/11/2024. Although the Licensee is currently exempt from Mandated Reporter Training, she completed the Mandated Reporter Training on 09/14/2022. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drill was conducted and documented on 04/12/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
