25 | On October 7th, 2021 at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensees Ubah Farah and Adam Yusuf. Licensee Adam Yusuf provided translation services for Licensee Ubah Farah. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensees. Only the Licensees and their two (2) natal children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a four (4) bedroom, two (2) bathroom single floored house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: the living room, one bathroom and one bedroom. The off limits areas are the remaining bedrooms, remaining bathroom and the kitchen. The fireplace is screened with a wooden board.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. No hazardous items accessible to children were observed during this inspection. Licensees have available toys, play equipment and materials. The home has a fenced backyard for outdoor activities. Licensees were reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Licensees’ First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 08/19/2022 and 04/21/2023. The Licensees have required immunizations. Licensee Yusuf completed the Mandated Reporter Training. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 08/25/2021.
Licensees were reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
