32 | Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm. LPA and licensee discussed California Megan's Law and he provided licensees with the website address: www.meganslaw.ca.gov for them to review information regarding their facility on a regular basis.
The following information was reviewed with the licensees: information on reporting requirements for suspected child abuse and unusual incidents, children’s records, immunizations, adults living or working in the home and related civil penalties, shaken baby syndrome, and SIDS. Licensees were reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, walkers, exersaucers, bouncy seats and jumpers are not allowed in day care.
Licensees were cited a type B violation today for being overcapacity with nine children in care during today's visit. As the overcapacity is to be corrected with the issuance of a large license from today's visit, no further action is required and a license for 14 will be granted effective today. Analyst printed a copy of the Notice Of Site Visit today and had licensees place it in their facility notice area before he left the home.
