25 | On 03/08/2023 at 11:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the licensee Hilda Flores de Corona. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, staff and eight children (one infant and seven (7) kids between 2-4 years of age) (4) were present in the facility during this inspection. Licensee's adult daughter, Silvia Corona provided translation from Spanish.
This facility is a one (1) story, three (3) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: Living Room, Kitchen, daycare room, and the backyard. The off limits areas are the garage, bedrooms 1, 2, and Master bedroom/bath, and bathroom in the hallway and are made inaccessible to children using child safety doorknob.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced backyard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 04/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 03/26/2021. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 02/22/2023 . Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated |
