25 | On October 28, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), D. Sanchez, conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Sarai Estrada. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) children, one (1) staff and licensee were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is single story, three bedroom, two bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, dining room, kitchen hallway bathroom, the two bedrooms located across the kitchen, front and side yard. Off limits areas are: laundry room, bedroom located in the back of the house right next to the laundry room and detached garage and are inaccessible through use of baby gate. It is to be noted that the detached garage is a living studio with a bathroom that the provider uses as an office.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced front and side yard available for outdoor activities. There are two lemon trees that has sharp thorns located in the front yard that needs to be barricaded. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. LPA observed locked storage area for firearms and other dangerous weapons. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 12/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 09/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 09/2024.
There is one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Cribs or play yards are free from all loose articles and objects. The provider physically checks on sleeping infants every 15 minutes. An Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)] is maintained for each infant up to 12 months of age. The provider places infants up to 12 months of age on their backs for sleeping. |
