25 | On April 15, 2024, at 1:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with the licensee, Keylly Miranda. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Two (2) children and Ms. Miranda were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one floor, three bedroom, one bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: the main day care room (located behind the home kitchen and indicated as room #1 on the facility sketch), the second home bedroom (as an additional napping room) and the home bathroom. The kitchen is a pass through area to access the main day care room behind it but was inspected today and found to be safely child proofed. The home living room is also a for use area in the home but not a primary day care area. However, it was also found to be safely child proofed during today's visit and the licensee may continue to use it at her discretion for any needed child care activities. Off limits areas are the third bedroom (room #3) and the garage (whose home entrance is in room #1). Both are made inaccessible with locking doorknobs.
The fire extinguisher and combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor play and a gated front yard. The back yard has a shed that is made inaccessible with a sliding bolt secured with a padlock. The gated front yard may also be used at the licensee's discretion. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 08/31/25. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed her most recent Mandated Reporter Training on 06/02/23. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 02/21/24 and 03/30/24, respectively. Licensee currently has one infant in care who is about to turn two this week and sleeps on her own napping mat rather than a crib of play yard. |
