On 08/23/2024 at 01:15 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Dana Stevens conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection. Upon arrival, LPA was greeted by Licensee Sarah Song. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. There were 8 daycare children present at the time of the inspection ages 19 months - 7 years. Licensee accompanied LPA throughout the inspection of this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home. The following areas are used for child care: the living room, one bedroom and the bathroom. The front yard is used for outdoor activities and Licensee stated total supervision is provided. Off Limit areas include: the remainder of the house, the garage and backyard. These areas are made inaccessible with safety gates. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM.

The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements.  The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. There are no bodies of water observed at the time of this inspection. A review of records on this date indicates that all individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee's and Licensee's assistant's First Aid and CPR certifications are current and expire 01/2026. Licensee and Licensee's assistant completed Mandated Reporter Training 11/2021 and need to renew. Licensee was reminded that Mandated Reporter training needs to be renewed every 2 years by all persons that provide care for children. A sample of children's files were reviewed and found complete. Infant sleep checks were documented in the Brightwheel application and reviewed and found to be current. Staff files were reviewed and found to be incomplete.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
