25 | On October 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random and Increase Capacity Inspection and met with Licensee, Claudia Moreno. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Three (3) daycare children and one (1) staff member was present in the facility during this inspection. Licensee will use the following areas for child care: 1st living room (room 1) area by stairs (room 2), left side patio in front of stairs, bathroom #1 (hallway). Off limits areas include: dining room, kitchen, 2nd living room, downstairs bedroom #1, entire upstairs (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms), backyard, and garage. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of doorknob covers, and a safety gate.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the Licensee understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. Licensee has an inground pool that is surrounded by a fence, that does not have a self-latching, self-closing gate that swings away from the pool and meets Title 22 requirements.
At 9:00 am LPA Gonzalez observed the door gate to the in ground pool did not self latch and did not self-close.
Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. |
