On September 15, 2022 at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted a pre-licensing inspection with Applicant Marfelia Alvarado Maldonado. The inspection’s purpose is to ensure that the home follows standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Present in the home was the Applicant and her spouse (Miguel Aguilar), who provided Spanish translation services as needed. This four (4) bedroom, three (3) bathroom single family home was toured and inspected. The daycare operational schedule will be weekdays 6 AM to 6 PM. The Applicant understands that should the daycare schedule change, they will need to notify the department before that change via a completed updated LIC 279 application.

The Applicant understands that they will need to notify the Department of any changes to the childcare areas and obtain departmental approval before use of any new childcare areas not previously licensed. Applicant will use the following areas for childcare: the downstairs, which consists of the dining room area, living room, the living room, the family room and one (1) bathroom. The off limits areas include the kitchen, garage, downstairs closets and pantry and the upstairs bedrooms. The stairs to the upstairs top floor are made inaccessible by use of child safety gates. Kitchen cabinets have sliding cabinet locks. Doorknobs to the downstairs closets, pantry and garage have door safety doorknobs. There are no bodies of water observed during time of visit. The fire extinguisher is rated 2A 10B: C. and is in the dining room area. The smoke/carbon monoxide detector meets requirements and is operational. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds and medications are secured inaccessible to children in care by high placement in a hallway closet. Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The Applicant has a working telephone/cell phone. The Applicant agrees to notify licensing should their telephone number and/or email address ever change. The Applicant indicated there are no firearms or other weapons in the home.
