On December 8th, 2022, at 7:55 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted a pre-licensing inspection with Applicant Johanna Barragan. The inspection’s purpose is to ensure that the home follows standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Present in the home was the Applicant and her teen relative. This two (2) story, five (5) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms was toured and inspected. The daycare schedule will be weekdays 6 AM to 5 PM.

The Applicant shall submit an updated application to the Licensing Department should the daycare operational schedule change. LPA advised that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, the applicant shall notify the Department of the proposed change. The Applicant understands that they will need to notify the Department of any changes to the childcare areas and obtain departmental approval before use of any new childcare areas not previously licensed.

Applicant will use the following areas for childcare: the living room, dining room and one downstairs and the downstairs bathroom. The off limits areas include the kitchen, backyard, second downstairs bedroom, garage and the top floor. The kitchen and stairs to the second floor are made inaccessible to day care children by use of safety gates. Access into the backyard is made inaccessible by use of its sliding glass door lock. The downstairs bedroom and garage are made inaccessible to children by use of its locked door knobs. The fire extinguisher is rated 2A 10B: C. and is located in the hallway kitchen pantry. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meets requirements and are operational. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds and medications are secured inaccessible to children in care by placement in a high bathroom shelf, locked garage and gated kitchen cabinets. Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The Applicant has a working telephone/cell phone. The Applicant agreed to notify licensing should their telephone number or email address ever change. The Applicant said there are no firearms or other weapons in the home.
