25 | On 12/29/2022 at 1:00 pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Michelle Hood and Daniela Huerta conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for a change of location with the licensee Vera LaGrone White. This 2-story 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children.
Proof of control of the property was for review by the Department, and a landlord consent form was provided. The following areas for childcare: living room, daycare room, and downstairs half bathroom, Off-limits areas include the garage, complete upstairs (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms), kitchen, and office area. They are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of door locks, and safety gates. The home has a safety gate located at the bottom of the stairs. The fireplace is screened and barricaded. The backyard will be off-limits until ready for use. The licensee will utilize the nearby park for outdoor activities. The licensee understands she must notify the assigned LPA and submit an updated Facility Sketch - LIC 999 once the backyard is ready for use. There are no bodies of water present in the home. The fire extinguisher is rated 2A 40B: C, and smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. The licensee has completed the 8 hours of preventative health. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification renewal date is on 01/11/2023. The Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 07/07/2022 and reviewed. Required documents are posted. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to the initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Any minor upon his/her 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days.
