25 | On August 19, 2024 at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced capacity increase and met with the Licensee Cynthia Huerta. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, her background cleared spouse, her backyground cleared adult children and four (4) children were present in the facility during this inspection.
On 07/02/2024, Licensee submitted an application (LIC 279) requesting a capacity increase. The licensee has provided written substantiation that they have at least one year of experience as a regulated small family childcare home operator. The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 08/15/2024 for fourteen (14) children. The Licensee provided proof of control of property. Landlord Consent is on file. The facility’s schedule is weekdays, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This two (2) story, four (4) bedroom, four (4) bathroom house was toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, downstairs bathroom, dining room/family room, kitchen. The off-limit areas include garage, office located inside the garage, bedroom 4 located on the first floor, and the entire second floor which includes: bedroom 1, 2, 3, and two bathrooms. Off limit areas are inaccessible to children by use of safety gates, safety latches or doorknob covers. Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, as shown on the updated facility sketch.
The facility has a working 2A10BC fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide, and the first aid kit in place. The last safety drill was on 08/06/2024. Licensee states there are no bodies of water on the premises, and none were observed during this inspection. Two (2) dogs live on the premises but are kept away from children in an off-limit area. Licensee states no firearms/ammunition are housed in the facility. Background criminal record clearances were verified and discussed. Licensee’s Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 11/9/2024. Helper’s pediatric First Aide and CPR certifications expire in May 2026. |
