25 | On 8/26/24 at 11:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Castellon made an unannounced inspection for the purpose of an increase in capacity. Met with Licensee Viviana Guerrero and her husband Gil Mota. On 08/13/2024, a City of Chula Vista fire clearance report was received by the SDCCRO approving for 14 children. Report is dated 8/13/24. Licensee will use the following areas for child care: entire first floor except for the bedroom. The second floor is off limits for daycare purposes. The staircase is properly barricaded at the base. A fully fenced backyard is used for daycare purposes. Off-limit areas are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of door locks, knob covers, safety latches, gates, and fencing. There are no bodies of water located on the premises. Smoke detector (2A10BC), fire extinguisher, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces. There is a sufficient amount of age appropriate toys, games, and books available. The home was clean and orderly during inspection. The is a working telephone in the home and all required forms are posted. Licensee stated that there are NO firearms or ammunition on the property. All adults living or working in the home have been fingerprint cleared and associated. LPA reviewed children's files and emergency drill log. Last fire/disaster drill was conducted 03/2024. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expire 10/2024. LPA discussed with Licensee maintaining supervision of day children at all times. LPA reviewed the following with licensee: SIDS, car seat law, reporting requirements, shaken baby syndrome and care and supervision. Licensee was also reminded the following items are prohibited during day care operating hours (walkers, exersaucers, jumpers and bouncy seats). Corporal punishment and smoking are not allowed in the day care.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
