25 | On 03/17/2023 at 9:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Hood conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection for a Change of Locationwith the licensee Gabriela Escobedo. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home complies with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This 1-story 2-bedroom, 1-bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children.
The licensee provided proof of control of the property for review by the Department. The licensee will use the following for child care: living room, bathroom and backyard. Off-limits areas include the two bedrooms, kitchen and front yard. They are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of door locks, doorknob covers, door latches, and safety gates. The licensee will utilize the backyard for outdoor activities. There are no bodies of water present in the home. The fire extinguisher is rated 2A 40B: C, and smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed up on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The licensee states there are NO firearms or other weapons in the home. The licensee has completed the 8 hours of preventative health and a copy is in the file. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 06/2024. Required documents are posted. The mandated reporter training certificate was completed on 06/20/2022. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to the initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/ person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Any minor upon his/her 18th birthday must be fingerprinted within 30 days. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed.
