25 | On December 7th, at 09:05 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced inspection to inspect previously off limit rooms for care and to confirm the new facility operational schedule. Present in the home were the Licensee and three (3) children, ages 10 months, 1 year and 2.5 years. This four (4) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house was toured and inspected.
The daycare operational schedule is now weekdays from 8 AM to 5:00 PM. Licensees applied to include the kitchen and one bedroom for use in the facility. The kitchen would be used for dining purposes. The proposed bedroom would be used as an area where babies would sleep.
The wall heater is screened. Licensees currently use the following areas for childcare: the living room, one (1) bathroom and one (1) bedroom. The off-limits areas included the kitchen, remaining bedrooms, and remaining bathroom. Access into the kitchen is barred by use of a child safety gate. Access into the remaining bedrooms and bathroom is made inaccessible using door locks. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds and medications are secured inaccessible to children in care by placement in a locked kitchen cabinet.
An inspection of both the kitchen and proposed bedroom was conducted and observed to be appropriate for children’s care, thus now approved for use.
Notice of site visit was given to the licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Stephanie Nemeth. |
