25 | On January 28, 2025, at 9:00 AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random and Capacity Increase Inspection and met with Helper, Hanna Paige. On or about 10:00 AM Licensee, Katheryn Arciniega arrived at the facility and continued with the visit. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Ms. Paige. Four (4) daycare children and one (1) staff member was present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, one bedroom, 2 bathroom house. Ms. Paige accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room/dining room, kitchen, hallway bathroom, and backyard. Off limits areas are bedroom and 2nd bathroom in the bedroom and are inaccessible through use of a safety gate. Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were not all made inaccessible to children during the inspection. LPA observed a knife in the kitchen drawer and cleaning compounds in the kitchen cabinet that was made accessible to the daycare children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. Licensee stated no bodies of water and LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises during the time of this inspection. Licensee stated the wall heater and the fire place is non-operational. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
