25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Edgar Campana conducted an announced change of location prelicensing inspection with licensee, Wensesee. Purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This two story, 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath house was toured and inspected.
Licensee will use the following areas for child care: family room, daycare room (bedroom on first floor), daycare room bathroom, nook area, and back yard. Off limits areas include: garage, kitchen, hallway bathroom, dining room, and all second floor (bedrooms 2 - 5, 2 bathrooms). Licensee stated that they are to be made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks and safety gates. The fire extinguisher (rated 2-A:10-B:C) and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. Detergents, cleaning compounds, and medicines are inaccessible to children in care. Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The licensee has a working cell phone. Licensee indicated there are no firearms in the home. During inspection, no poisons were observed present in the home.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
