25 | On 3/20/2024 at 1:45pm, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Vicky Williamson and Angela Nguyen conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection with applicant, Furainne Jean Baptiste for the purpose of a change of location. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure the home is in compliance with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home was toured and inspected. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6:30am - 7:00pm.
Applicant will utilize the following areas for childcare: living room, dining room, bathroom #3 (hallway) and backyard. Off limit areas include bedroom #4 (downstairs), laundry room, kitchen, garage, entire upstairs bedroom #1 (master), bedroom #2, bedroom #3, bathroom #1 (inside of master), bathroom #2. Off limit areas are inaccessible to children by use of door knob covers, door locks, safety latches, and barricade lattice fencing with a latch lock making the kitchen area inaccessible. Applicant will utilize the backyard for outdoor activities. LPA informed applicant to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. Applicant stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPAs did not observe any bodies of water during the time of inspection.
During the inspection, applicant did not have the key to access bedroom #4 (downstairs) and bathroom #2 (upstairs) during time of inspection. LPA was unable to inspect the rooms during the time of inspection.
The fire extinguisher is rated 2-A:10-B:C and is located in the kitchen, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items were made inaccessible. There is no fireplace in the home. Children's toys and play equipment are available. The applicant has a working cell phone. Applicant stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home.
