25 | On May 6th, 2024 at 9:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced capacity increase inspection. Licensee Darline Fils was advised of the meeting’s purpose and granted LPA facility entry. Present in the home was only the Licensee.
On 04/15/2024, Licensee submitted an application (LIC 279) requesting a capacity increase. Licensee provided substantiation that they have at least one year of experience as a regulated small family child care home operator. The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 05/01/2024 for fourteen (14) children. Landlord Consent is on file.
This three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house was toured and inspected. The following areas used for childcare are the living room, one (1) bathroom and one (1) bedroom. The off-limits areas include the remaining bedrooms, remaining bathroom, kitchen, and backyard. The off-limit bedrooms and bathroom are made inaccessible to children by use of its door locks. The kitchen is barricaded with a child safety gate. The backyard is made inaccessible to children by its locked door. The fire inspector noted that there is no garage conversion.
Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, as shown on the updated facility sketch. Background criminal record clearances were verified and discussed. First Aid and CPR certifications expire in March 2026. Facility has working fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide, and the first aid kit in place. The last safety drill was on 04/08/2024. No bodies of water were observed on the premises. The Licensee states neither animals/pets nor firearms/ammunition are housed in the facility. The daycare schedule is weekdays 6 AM to 10 PM.
