25 | On 08/12/2024, at 9:35 am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Oscar Picazo and Michelle Hood conducted an announced follow up pre-licesning inspection with applicant Widmaer Victorin to review required corrections prior to licensure. Also present was Gordy Gaetan to provide translation in Haitian Creol. During today’s visit, LPAs observed the following:
1) Age appropriate toys and materials for the children being cared for.
2) Repaired rear sliding screen door leading to the play area for the children in care
3) Applicant installed and fenced off the washer, dryer and water heater area, making it inaccessible to children.
4) Applicant installed and fenced in the patio and made the rest of the remaining backyard inaccessible to children.
LPA Picazo reviewed the ratio/capacity worksheet with applicant. LPA Picazo discussed the maximum capacity for a small family child care home: four infants only (infants mean any children under 24 months); or six children with no more than three infants; or, with landlord consent, eight children with no more than two infants, one child in kindergarten or elementary school and one child at least age six, including children under age 10 who live in the home.
A Regular Small Family Child Care Home license may be issued upon final file review. LPA Picazo explained inspection report to applicant, applicant stated he understood. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the applicant, Widmaer Victorin.
