25 | On 04/16/2024 at 12;15 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Michelle Hood conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection with applicant April "Fay" Ramos. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that the home complies with standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. This 3-bedroom, 2-bath home was toured and inspected to ensure the environment is safe for the care and supervision of children. Per the applicant operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. The applicant plans to care for pre-school and older children.
The applicant provided proof of control of the property for review by the Department. The applicant will use the following areas for childcare: living room, kitchen, dining room, hallway bathroom, and backyard. Off-limits areas include the master bedroom/bathroom, bedroom 2 & 3, and garage. They are made inaccessible to daycare children through the use of doorknob covers, and door latches. The applicant will utilize the backyard for outdoor activities. There are no bodies of water observed during the time of the visit. The applicant stated there are no weapons or firearms. The fire extinguisher is rated 3A 40B: C, and smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors meet requirements and are operational. All poisons, cleaners, and hazardous items in the home are inaccessible to children through latches, locks, and/or placed on high surfaces.
Children’s toys and play equipment are available. The applicant has completed the 8 hours of preventative health. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 03/16/2026. The applicant completed the Mandated Reporter AB1207 training certification on 04/09/2024. Immunization records per SB792 were reviewed and are in compliance with the applicant.
Because the applicant rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC 9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). |
