It was alleged that staff did not ensure children’s dietary needs were met. Licensee denied the allegation, stating that scheduled meals and snacks are provided daily and water is always accessible indoors and outdoors. The licensee provided the LPA multiple images of children with accessible water inside and outside of the facility. The licensee also provided the LPA with a daily schedule of the meals provided to children in care. Staff interviewed stated they would never deny any child food or water, even outside scheduled mealtimes. Daycare children interviewed stated they like the food and drink water and juice at daycare. According to daycare parents interviewed, their children are always well fed, hydrated, and never hungry at pick-up.
It was alleged that staff did not ensure children’s toileting needs were met. Licensee denied the allegation, stating that children have unrestricted restroom access, are not required to ask permission, and staff remain present and attentive to ensure safety. She stated that staff are always with the children when they are using the restroom. Staff interviewed stated they have never denied restroom access or observed other staff do so. Daycare children interviewed stated they are allowed to use the restroom whenever needed. According to daycare parents interviewed, staff promptly addressed toileting needs and parents had no concerns.
It was alleged that staff did not ensure children were adequately supervised. Licensee denied the allegation, stating that multiple staff supervise children at all times and children are never left unattended. Staff interviewed denied leaving children unsupervised or observing other staff provide inadequate supervision. Daycare children interviewed stated they feel safe and enjoy attending daycare. According to daycare parents interviewed, staff are attentive, caring, and provide appropriate supervision.
C1 was interviewed and provided age-appropriate statements. C1 described generally positive experiences and one occasion of being left outside but did not report fear or harm. C1’s statements lacked sufficient detail to corroborate the allegations.
Based on the information obtained during the investigation, there is insufficient evidence to support the allegations. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. |
