On 10/18/24 at 8:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Patrick Ma conducted an announced Case Management – Licensee Initiated inspection regarding removing room 305 and adding rooms 502 and 707 to already licensed rooms 202, 711, STEAM Lab and multipurpose room. Change in capacity was not requested. Letter of permission from the Carlsbad Unified School District and the Principal of Pacific Rim Elementary School, Richard Tubbs are on file. Fire inspection was completed and cleared on 9/26/24. Upon arrival, LPA met with Area Manager, Bridget Nichols and Site Coordinator Ruby Solis. There were no children present for the program as visit took place during school hours.

LPA inspected rooms 202, 502, 707, 711, STEAM Lab and multipurpose room. Rooms were arranged in a typical classroom setting with tables, chairs, computers, and other school furniture and equipment. Some of the rooms were occupied during inspection. LPA advised facility representatives rooms should be made safe with all hazardous material inaccessible for program care.

Hand washing and toileting areas are located at the 600 and multipurpose/library building. Outdoor area is not affected. Program provides PM snacks. Licensing documents are posted in room 711. Parents pick up and drop off their children at designated areas.

Rooms will not exceed maximum capacity allowed per Fire Marshall requirements. Room occupancy and children’s ratios must always be maintained.

No deficiency observed during the visit. Room 305 is removed from license. Additional rooms 502 and 707 are granted effective today with previously licensed rooms.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representatives Bridget Nichols and Ruby Solis. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
