25 | On 11/3/23 at 11:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Mangina conducted an unannounced Annual inspection with the Site Coordinator, Brian Sanchez. Also present was Area Manager April Smith. During today's inspection, there were 22 children with three teachers and four aids in classroom 26. Classroom 31 is only used for afterschool program after 2:20 PM. Classrooms 6, 9, 10, 11, 24, and 25 are not currently being used. Care is provided for kindergarten aged children in two groups from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 11:20 AM to 2:20 PM. School aged care takes place in rooms 26 and 31 from 2:20 PM to 6:00 PM. Appropriate ratios and capacity were observed.
Furniture and age-appropriate equipment is in good condition. Rooms have adequate heating, lighting, ventilation. Floors appear to be clean and safe. Safe Drinking water is readily accessible. Bathrooms are maintained with operational toilets and faucets with appropriate temperature. Paper towels and toilet paper are available. Bathrooms are lighted and have ventilation. Facility serves only snacks in the classroom. Food service area consists of a refrigerator, which is clean and free of hazards. Facility representative was advised to ensure that all snacks are stored in sealed and dated containers. Snack menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children. Facility representative was reminded to ensure that all storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers. Storage areas for poisons are locked. Site Coordinator stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 F or less. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector at the facility. The last fire drill was conducted 10/19/23. Facility has 2A10BC fire extinguisher.
Outdoor play areas are a fenced blacktop area with swings and grassy area for older children and the first-grade playground for kindergarten-aged children. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards. Facility provides basketballs, hand balls, jump ropes, and other
