25 | On 10/13/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Selina Siao and Martha Avila conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the purpose of adding an additional room to the current license. LPAs observed 23 children napping on mats in classroom F17 supervised by staff Lorri Kanski Namin and Laila Yosufi aka Latifzadah. LPAs met with Christine Kutzner, Operations Supervisor during the inspection. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the administrative facility Rolling Hills 376700093.
This facility is currently licensed for 23 children ages 3-5 in classroom F17. Licensee representative submitted an application to request for capacity increase to 48 children serving children ages 2-5 by adding classroom A22 and the fire clearance was granted on 09/13/2023.
Room A22 was inspected and measured at 907.29 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate 25 children. The room is equipped with age-appropriate equipment, furniture, supplies and materials. There is 1 sink and 1 toilet inside the classroom.
Facility has an existing bathroom waiver to use the common restroom in room F10. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the restrooms and direct visual observation is required. Facility representative has requested for the children to share the TK playground that has a purple play structure. LPAs measured the TK playground today and it measured at 3652.89 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate up to 48 children. There is rubber cushioning under the play structure and wood chip under another climbing equipment. Children will be sharing the playground with TK program. A waiver will be submitted to the department and an age recommendation sticker is needed for the TK program.
The preschool playground was previously measured at 1730 square feet, which is sufficient for 23 children. Children will be bringing their water bottles when they are at the playground. Facility has sufficient indoor activity space to accommodate up to 49 children and sufficient outdoor activity space for the requested capacity. The requested capacity of 48 children will be granted upon approval of the outdoor waiver by the department. |
