On 2/27/25, LPA (Licensing Program Analyst) Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the Director, Megan Eckert. LPA toured the facility with the director and observed 13 infants and 5 staff. The licensee has not exceeded the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license.

The furniture, books, games, and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Room was at a comfortable temperature. All foods and beverages are labeled/dated and stored per regulations in the infant room refrigerator. Infant/bedding napping equipment is sufficient and meets regulatory requirements. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and good operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Infant changing tables have padded, washable vinyl at least one inch thick with sides raised at least 3 inches, per regulation and are within arm’s reach of a sink. There is at least one staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. Any medications are kept in the director’s office and emergency bags with first aid kits are inaccessible to children in the classrooms. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. The carbon monoxide detector is operational and located in the kitchen area. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets with full signatures, a sample of children's records for emergency information and medical assessments. Safe Sleep Logs are kept electronically are were reviewed by LPA.

Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. All floors are clean and safe.

Facility has emergency snacks on hand, stored appropriately and meeting nutritional requirements. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards. Children were observed to be under the supervision of qualified staff. An isolation area has been designated for children who become ill during the day which is located in the director’s office. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Please complete the survey and share your inspection experience. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. No deficiencies were issued today. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Megan Eckert.
