13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando, made an unannounced visit to deliver the findings of a complaint investigation initiated on 3/18/24. At the time of the visit, there were 73 preschool children in care and 15 staff present. The complaint was fully investigated by the Department for the allegation that a daycare child sustained an unexplained injury while in care. During the investigation, interviews with potential witnesses, parents, staff and responding agencies were conducted. Pertinent documentation, including reports from responding agencies and medical documentation was also reviewed. Based on the department’s investigation, there was no evidence found to prove the allegation made against the daycare and their staff. Therefore, the allegation of a child sustaining an unexplained injury that resulted in multiple facial abrasions is unsubstantiated. No deficiencies were issued today.
Exit interview was conducted with Assistant Principal, Rocio Sainz, and copy of report and appeal rights was provided. A notice of site visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
