On 3/6/25 at 8:00am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Annette Sutherland, conducted a case management visit for the purpose of following up on a self reported incident that occurred 1/29/25 when a parent alleged that a Staff member (S1) handled child (C1) in a rough manner. LPA was met by Lead teacher Azize Elhamad. Director Josie Debuse arrived later. The classroom was going to the bathroom, and light construction was being done in that area. S1 redirected C1 due to safety concerns around the construction of the Shed.
Present this morning were a total of 22 children and 6 staff.
LPA toured the facility and interviewed Staff, Director & Assistant Director. Areas observed were the bathrooms near the newly built shed, to get clarification on what happened and where it occurred. At the time of the incident the program was within staff to child ratio requirements. Since the incident staff has been retrained.
There were no similar incident reports, prior to this or after, available for LPA to review.
Should evidence of a violation be found while gathering information, LPA will conduct a follow-up visit.
No deficiencies cited today.
NOTICE OF SITE VISIT IS TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA observed Director post notice of site visit.
