32 | Sign-in and sign-out logs were current and complete. LPAs reviewed a sample of children’s files, which contained emergency contact information and all required documentation. Staff records were also reviewed. Files contained health screenings, proof of immunizations, and qualifications for the positions held. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications were current for at least one staff present.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. The facility does currently provide IMS. For IMS information, LPAs provided PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. ADA-related information was also provided, including the US Department of Justice toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice), (800) 514-0383 (TTY), and the publication "Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA" available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers
LPAs verified that all staff and adults working in the facility had criminal record clearances associated with the center. The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100 per person per day, for maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The licensee was informed about the MyChildCarePlan.org website, which helps families find licensed child care and connects them to local Resource and Referral agencies. LPAs also provided the contact email for the Child Care Advocate Program at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov for questions regarding licensing requirements.
No deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection. An exit interview was conducted with Jessica Villafana Diaz, and a copy of this report was provided. The licensee was advised to maintain this report on file for public review for three years. A Notice of Site Visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 consecutive days.
