32 | Director stated that meals are prepared and brought daily from their sister facility EES Deni Jacobs School and that they provide breakfast, lunch and snack. Children eat their meals inside their designated classroom. The facility has a fridge and storage area for milks and additional snacks. Menu is posted. Cleaning supplies are kept separate from food and are inaccessible to children. Storage containers for solid waste have tight-fitting covers (kitchen/snack areas and bathrooms) and are kept in good repair. Storage areas for poisons are locked. Director stated there are no firearms or other weapons on the premises. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 F or less. The facility appears to be free of insects and rodents. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector at the facility. Last emergency drill was conducted on 11/19/2025.
Bedding/napping equipment is in good repair with sleeping mats of a water-resistant material, disinfected daily. Sleeping mats, when in use, are spaced adequately apart to meet regulation and are not blocking an entrance or an exit. No children are using the same sleeping mat and sheets and blankets are stored separately, without touching on each of the children’s cubbies. The sink and changing table are disinfected between each use. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary, and operating condition. All storage containers or trash cans containing solid or diaper waste have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. Any wastewater used to clean is being discarded after use.
Outdoor play area is a fully fenced playground in the front of the facility, and another at the back of the facility with sufficient material for cushioning. There are no bodies of water at this facility. Small play structures are securely fixed to the ground. Area has a connected roof and a tree used for shade. Equipment is age appropriate. Area has drinking water readily accessible, and grounds are free of debris or potential hazards.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for
drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1597.16. (CONT ON LIC809C) |
