25 | On 3/22/23 at 9:00 am, LPA Annette Sutherland made an unannounced CASE MANAGEMENT inspection, for reported Lead Exceedance. LPA met with Director, Carmen Polifrone. Also present in the facility were 10 daycare children and 5 teachers/staff in 1 room. Facility was within ratio & capacity. LPA interviewed director and examined the sinks deemed an Action Level Exceedance.
Sinks reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels were as follow:
Infant Discovery Classroom 2 : sink 31 ppb
Infant Exploration Classroom 3: sink 340 ppb
Sinks in exceedance are located in the infant care rooms. LPA asked current teachers in the classroom what they use for drinking and formula preparation and they stated that they use bottled water provided by the parents. The facility has bottled water to replenish bottles if necessary. Director has since posted a "Do not use for drinking or food handling" sign above the sinks that are in exceedance to remind staff not to use the faucets for drinking water or food preparation.
See LIC809D for deficiency cited.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Carmen Polifrone . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. |
