25 | On 09/06/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Clenista conducted an unannounced case management inspection. Purpose of this visit is to address facility's request to allow the children enrolled in their toddler program (attached to their infant license) to share the preschool playground. Upon arrival, LPA met with Center Director, Shelby Anaya. There were no children present during time of visit.
After conducting a file review, LPA observed that the toddlers were approved to share the infant playground. Due to the preschool playground being bigger in square footage than the infant playground, facility representatives, Shelby Anaya and Pam Crisman, requested that the toddlers share this yard at staggered times to allow the toddlers to run around.
LPA inspected and measured the preschool playground and it measured at approximately 4,253.5 sq. ft., sufficient for 56 children at one time. There is a playground structure that is appropriate for ages 2-5 years old, however was observed to be fenced off so that the children enrolled in the toddler program (ages 18-36 months) do not have access to it. The square footage that the toddler would be accessible to is 3,275.09 sq. ft., sufficient for 43 children at one time. Facility is currently licensed to care for up to 16 preschoolers and 14 toddlers. Area had trees and umbrellas used for shade. Other than the playground structure, LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment for both programs. Area was fully fenced in per regulation. A waiver for the toddlers to share the preschool playground shall be submitted and approved by the department prior to the toddlers utilizing it.
No deficiencies observed in the areas inspected during today's inspection. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA observed Director post notice of site visit. LPA reviewed this report with Director prior to obtaining her signature. |
