On February 21st, 2023, at 2 PM, an office meeting was conducted with Licensee Representatives Ed Stanfield (Associate Director), Lucelyna Godwin (Association Program Specialist) and Director Cristina Jimenez to discuss a self reported incident which occurred on 10/13/2022. Present at this meeting was Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Tulam Vu, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha Malane and LPA Jo Ann Legaspi.

On 11/28/2022, during a case management inspection, the following deficiency was cited: Type A CCR 101229(a)(1) Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision – on 10/13/2022, a child was left alone in the preschool hallway for about 1 -2 minutes before being retrieved by staff. On 07/19/2019, a case management inspection was conducted due to a self reported incident where a child was left unattended on the playground while their classmates returned to their classroom. It is noted that the Licensee corrected the above deficiencies in a timely manner. The director conducted a staff training to ensure children are supervised and provided the Department with a written plan of operation detailing how staff will ensure children are consistently supervised.

LPM discussed with licensee representatives the seriousness of the above deficiencies. Licensee representatives were provided with the following resources: A Technical Support Program (TSP) brochure, Best Practices - Lack of Supervision, CCLD Quarterly Winter Update, Provider Information Notice (PIN) 22-30-CCP, “Supervising Children in Child Care Centers” training video at ccld.childcarevideos.org, Child Care Advocate (916- 654-1541 or childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov) and the Licensing Duty Line (619)-767-2248.

Licensee representatives were informed that repeated violations or failure to comply with licensing laws and regulations may result in administrative action taken by the Department. Licensee Representatives stated they understood and will ensure the facility complies with all regulations and laws governing Child Care Centers.
