25 | On 6/28/22 at 1:35pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Maureen Cardoza and toured the facility. There were 42 children and eight (8) staff members present. The facility is requesting a capacity increase to 94 preschool children (age 2.5 - 5 years). Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:15am to 5:15pm.
Classrooms X and W were inspected and measured a total of 956.68 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity increase. There are seven (7) toilets and eight (8) sinks, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity.
The outdoor activity spaces were inspected and measured a total of 9,646.26 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 127 children, however applicant is only requesting a capacity of 94. The preschool and elementary school currently operate under a waiver to share the outdoor activity space on a scheduled basis and to never co-mingle.
A fire clearance for 94 preschool children (age 2.5 – 5 years) was granted 5/10/22.
The following is required prior to the granting an increase:
1. Make wall heaters in Room W and Room X inaccessible to children
2. Ensure hot water is 120 degrees or less in rooms W and X
3. Identify/mark classrooms as specified on the fire clearance
No deficiencies were cited. Exit interview conducted with Director, Maureen Cordosa. Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's date. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
A capacity increase may be granted once the above requirements are met and proof submitted to CCL. |
