13 | On 05/13//2022 at 12:15 PM, LPA Dana Stevens conducted an unannounced complaint inspection to deliver findings on the above allegation. LPA met with Director Stephanie Freeman. There were 20 children in care at the time of the inspection.
During the course of the investigation, interviews were conducted with the reporting party, daycare children, daycare parents, daycare teachers, and Director. LPA reviewed facility records and documentation provided by Reporting Party.
An incident occurred on 02/25/2022 in which a preschool child was injured when an older child threw a pillow at the younger child and the younger child fell backward hitting his head on the floor. The staff member that was present with the children at the time of the incident stated in interview that although she was near the children at the time, she did not witness the child fall due to having her back to the children to say goodbye to a departing parent. Although the staff member did not witness the child fall, the staff member was able to provide immediate attention to the injured child and appropriate child/teacher ratio was being observed. Due to conflicting information recieved during interviews there is not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation of Staff did not provide adequate supervision to daycare children while in care, thus this allegation is found to be Unsubstantiated.
An exit interview was conducted and copy of this report was provided to Director. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
