25 | On 08/07/2024 at 10:05am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Jill Giles. Licensee is requesting to be licensed for 146 preschool children ages 2 to 5 years old in in classrooms 4 (AM only), 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and the new rooms are 7A and 7B. Facility currently operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5pm. Present during today’s inspection were 66 children supervised by 9 staff members in seven classrooms. All staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were toured and inspected today. LPA informed Jill Giles that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor classrooms 7A and 7B. Total indoor activity space measured 5479.96 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 148 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via filtered water system ordered from Quench and there is a water pitcher in each classroom to refill the children's water bottles that are used during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Director stated that there are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 06/03/24.
LPA observed a total of 14 sinks and 19 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 146 children.
