32 | When it comes to the allegation that staff did not meet day-care child's diapering needs, based on interviews it was disclosed that staff check diapers upon arrival and every hour documenting them on the diaper log and in the app. Staff also apply diaper cream provided by parents as needed throughout the day and document application on the diaper log, they will also apply when parents request it.
With the allegation facility has an infestation of rodents, based on interviews there were rodent droppings back in December that were found in the Discovery classroom on the shelving, staff took proper sanitizing measures, notified director, pest control and the maintenance team were out that week. It was disclosed that within a week no more droppings were seen. LPA Messerschmidt observed the classrooms and did not see any droppings or signs of potential rodents.
Lastly, based on record review and interviews for allegation staff did not comply with day-care children's admission agreement, it was disclosed that parents signed and initialed the enrollment packet and were provided with the parent handbook. LPA Messerschmidt reviewed Child #1 and Child #2 files and all signatures and initials were present. In interviews it was disclosed that staff have complied with all parents’ requests pertaining to children in care.
Based on the information obtained during this investigation, it has been determined that although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with the Director, Lina Borja, and a copy was provided. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview. A Notice of Site visit was given, and Director understands that it must remain posted for 30 days.
