On 12/02/2022 at 10:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Samantha Clenista conducted an unannounced case management inspection, for Action Level Exceedance (ALE) detected in facility's water fixture. LPA met with Director, Christine D'Amico. Also present in the facility were 15 children and 5 teachers/staff. Facility was within ratio & capacity.
Per the new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the testing of water for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs) with facility director during the inspection. Per AB 2370, all CCCs that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing.
On 11/15/2022, LPA was notified by Ms. D'Amico via email that some of their faucets at the facility had a lead exceedance. LPA received facility sketch and LIC 9275. The report indicated the facility was inspected and samples were collected on 10/26/2022.
There were 3 sink faucets that were reported with 5.5 ppb or greater lead exceedance levels as follows:
- E- Staff Restroom sink (21.37 UG/L)- currently only used for hand washing
- A- Children's sink in Room 1 (5.67 UG/L)- currently only used for hand washing
- B- Children's sink in Room 1 (17.6 UG/L)- currently only used for hand washing
