32 | The Director showed them on 10/24/25 what supervision should look like during indoor and outdoor activities. When a child bites, staff explain to the child that biting hurts our friends. This helps the child understand that their actions can cause pain and that we need to be kind to others. Resources are used such as reading books about biting to help children understand why it is not okay and learn better ways to express their feelings. Children in care are separated from one another when needed. Children could require a moment away from one another as deemed appropriate by staff.
It was alleged "Staff did not report incidents to responsible party", Director states incidents are reported verbally to the parents. There was no evidence of paper documentation that had been given to parents regarding any incidents. Staff members have the parents contact information and will call or text a parent when needed. When a child gets hurt, needs first aid or any further medical attention the parent is contacted. Per interviews, staff inform parents about the incidents by talking to them during drop off and pick up time regarding incidents involving their child. On 10/17/25 the Director implemented into protocol a written report to be provided to the responsible party/parent as a way of keeping record and tracking the incidents for efficiency. Prior to this implementation the incidents were only provided to parents by verbal communication. The written incident will be completed by staff for parents signature to be obtained.
It was alleged "Staff do not not follow child's behavioral plan", Director states when the responsible party provides the center with any behaviors regarding their child they work together as a staff to help the child feel safe and comfortable. The Director said that when a parent or guardian tells the center about a child's behavior challenges, she works with the staff to support that child. When a child needs to be redirected, staff get down to the child's level like kneeling or sitting so they can talk face to face in a calm and respectful way. This helps the child feel heard and understand what they need to do differently.
It was alleged "Staff do not communicate with responsible party regarding child's care", LPA reviewed the parent handbook and it does not provide the manner in how a parent will be communicated with. Director states parents are communicated with verbally regarding any important occurrences or if the parent has any questions regarding how their child's day was. Per interviews, staff talk to parents in person if something important happens during the child's day. If a parent has questions about how their child's day went, staff will speak with them face to face.
The evidence obtained provided contradictory information and could not prove or disprove the allegations. |
