32 | Regarding allegation that staff left day-care child unsupervised at their morning drop off to elementary school due to gates still being closed, based on interviews conducted it was disclosed that children are dropped off at their school when the gates are open and that there is a drivers training that is completed at on-boarding and an annual training that includes this information. Based on confidential witness interviews conducted it was disclosed that there have been a few times that children were dropped off at school with the gates being closed. LPA contacted elementary school to confirm that gates open with adult supervision starting at 7:45am and confirmed this time on their website. LPA reviewed drop off logs which showed multiple days where children were dropped off prior to the 7:45am time when the gates open for children.
Based on the information obtained during this investigation the preponderance of evidence standard has been met. Therefore, the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.
An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with the Interim Director, Bertha Tapia, and a copy was provided. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview.
A Notice of Site visit was given, and Interim Director understands that it must remain posted for 30 days.
