On 8/13/21 at 10:15 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst Adrian Castellon met with assistant director Lidia Tressler for the purpose of conducting an unannounced annual inspection. There were 6 children with a qualified teacher and two assistants in the Torrey Pine classroom , 6 children with a qualified teacher and two assistants in the Redwood classroom 6 children with a qualified teacher and two assistants in the Sequoia classroom and 5 children in the Sycamore classroom with a qualified teacher and two assistants. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

LPA toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trash cans have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen which is clean and sanitary with all food stored properly, per regulation. Menus are posted. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and in operating condition. Medications are kept in a safe place, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children have been made inaccessible. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play area is fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition No hazards were noted. Portable water is used in and out of the classrooms. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets, a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. Children's and staff temperature are checked upon entry. The isolation area is the front office. There are several staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com.
