25 | On March 15, 2024, at 9:45am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced case management inspection regarding a self - reported incident. LPA met with Assistant Director, Karina Janco. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility. There were 44 children present with seven (7) staff members.
On February 6, 2024, the Assistant Director self- reported an incident regarding inappropriate interaction involving Child 1 (C1) and Child (C2). Per Assistant Director, the alleged incident occurred on February 5, 2024 at 4:45 pm.
During the investigation of the incident, LPA conducted interviews with the directors, staff, daycare children, authorized representatives of C1 and C2 and an outside agency. LPA reviewed and obtained pertinent documentation.
Interviews revealed that Staff (S1) was in the classroom supervising nine (9) children when she observed C1 and C2 in the post office play area of the classroom interacting inappropriately. S1 stated that she immediately intervened, and the inappropriate interaction immediately ceased. S1 immediately reported the incident to the Facility Representative and the Authorized Representatives for C1 and C2.
Director, Susanna Herbst stated that the classroom furniture has been reorganized to ensure that there is a open view of the entire classroom. LPA conducted a tour of the classroom. Director provided photos of the original set up of the classroom to the San Diego Regional Office. It has been determined that there are no violations regarding this incident.
No deficiencies cited during today’s inspection. Exit interview was conducted with Assistant Director, Karina Janco. and a copy of this report, Appeal Rights and Notice of Site Visit were provided. Notice of Site Visit is required to be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
