25 | On 4/11/22 at 1:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane arrived at the facility to conduct a case management inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Tiffany Burroughs and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. LPA proceeded to tour the facility indoors and outdoors. Facility is requesting a capacity increase to 20 preschool children age 3 through 5 years and add the Three-Year-Old classroom. The following ratios were observed: six (6) preschool children and one (1) staff in the Preschool Room. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:0pm.
The total preschool indoor space measured 749.51 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate 21 children, however the facility is only requesting a capacity of 20 preschool children. The facility has age appropriate furniture, napping equipment, including cots, tables and chairs. The director is in the process of purchasing cubbies, bookshelves and other materials for children's use. There are two (2) toilets and two (2) sinks available for use which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 20 preschool children.
Director was reminded that children shall be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the restroom and direct visual observation is required at all times.
The outdoor activity spaced located on the north side of the building was inspected and previously measured a total of 1871.23 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 20 preschool children. Director was reminded that children shall be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the outdoor activity space and direct visual observation is required at all times. Outdoor play equipment is age appropriate. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards with a canopy for shade. Proper supervision and placement of staff during outdoor activities was advised to ensure the supervision and the safety of children at all times.
A fire clearance for 20 preschool children (age 3 through 5 years) was granted 4/7/2022.
