25 | On 11/14/2024 at 12:40 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle Hood arrived at the facility to conduct a case management inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Teacher, Natalia Ellis and disclosed the purpose of the inspection. LPA proceeded to tour the facility indoors and outdoors. Facility is requesting the to use the playground. The following ratios were observed: eight (8) napping preschool children and one (1) staff in the Preschool Room.
The temporary outdoor activity spaced located on the east side of the building. The playground was inspected and measured a total of 1448.14 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 19 preschool children. Ellis was reminded that children shall be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the outdoor activity space and direct visual observation is required at all times. Outdoor play equipment is age appropriate. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in safe condition and free of hazards with a canopy for shade. Proper supervision and placement of staff during outdoor activities was advised to ensure the supervision and the safety of children at all times.
Ellis was reminded to inform the Director Sharifa Osman to contact the LPA when the playground garden and permanent fencing is complete.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Teacher Natalia Ellis. NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND WILL REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. Failure to comply with the posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. No deficiencies are cited. |
