32 | The isolation area shall be equipped with a crib, cot or playpen for each ill infant. In addition, infants in the isolation shall be under constant visual observation. There is a carbon monoxide detector in the classroom and a first aid kit with required supplies. Required documents are posted in the lobby of the facility. There is a kitchen that will be used as a food preparation area and includes one sink, one refrigerator and storage units.
The outdoor activity space for infants was inspected and measured a total of 452.15 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 6 infant children. Due to limited outdoor space, applicant has agreed to lower the requested capacity to 6 children. Updated LIC200A received at the time of the inspection. The infant program has exclusive use of the outdoor activity space. The outdoor activity space is enclosed by a fence that is at least four feet high. There is a shaded rest area for the children by the use of canopy. The children will go through the back parking lot to access the outdoor play area. Plan of operation submitted and approved for the transition of the children to and from the outdoor play area; including safety, ratio and supervision. The outdoor activity space was observed to be free of hazards and is equipped with age appropriate play equipment and toys. There are no climbing structures present in the infant outdoor activity space. Proper supervision and placement of staff outside was discussed to ensure the safety of children at all times.
LPA reviewed with applicant the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.

Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
