32 | On 5/7/2024, LPA inspected the lanterns and the device securing the lanterns to the ceiling; however, was unable to determine if during the time of the electricity outage the lanterns hanging from the ceiling were deemed to be unsafe. Daycare children interviewed stated that lanterns were hanging on the ceiling and placed on the tables inside of the classroom, however they did not disclose that they felt unsafe. Daycare parents interviewed expressed no concerns regarding the allegation.
Directors and six staff stated that on occasion when in need of repair the septic tank inside of the closet in PreK 1 classroom produces a smell inside of the classroom. Two staff felt that the classroom smells may not be safe for the children. Per Directors, the septic tank was repaired on 4/17/2024. On 5/6/2024, LPA inspected the septic tank and was unable to determine if there was an odor present. Daycare children interviewed did not disclosed that the PreK 1 classroom has an odor. Daycare parents interviewed expressed no concerns regarding the allegation.
During interviews with staff, daycare children and parents, no conclusive evidence regarding the allegation was obtained. There were conflicting statements obtained during the investigation. Though the allegation may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is unsubstantiated.
No deficiencies cited. A copy of this report along with Appeals Rights, were provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted with Directors, Tina Smith and April Kozeluh. |
