32 | There are no bodies of water on the premises of the property, per observation and applicants statement. The outdoor activities spaces include patio #1, patio #2 and outdoor play area. Patios #1 and #2 are located behind classroom A. The other outdoor play area is located near the front of classroom A. The outdoor activity areas were inspected and measured a total of 2,979.85 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate 39 children. The surface of the outdoor activity spaces is maintained in a safe condition and free of hazards. Areas around climbing equipment was observed to have rubber matting material for cushioning to absorb falls. There is shade in the outdoor activity spaces by the use of shade kites, trees, a building awning and a movable canopy. The play equipment is suitable for ages 2 through 5 years old. Proper supervision and placement of staff during outdoor activities was advised to ensure the supervision and the safety of children.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
